Teenager given prison warning after admitting sex offences

Thomas Weech, 19, of Williams Street, Langold, appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on three charges relating to sexual assaults and intentional sexual touching.

The first is said to have happened at Castle Hill car park in Worksop on Saturday, May 23 last year, the second at Sparken Hill House, Worksop on Saturday, May 30 last year, and the third at Langold Country Park between Tuesday, June 30 and Saturday, August 1 last year.

The case was adjourned until Wednesday, August 3, but Judge James Sampson told Weech: “These are very serious offences, especially given the fact that there are three different victims and also given their ages.

“I am giving no indication as to what is going to happen, but all options, including custody, will be considered.”

Weech’s barrister, Steve Ramsel, mitigating, asked for the adjournment so that a psychological report could be prepared on his client.

“He has been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and operates at a mental age that is below 18,” said Mr Ramsel. “Therefore, it would help the court if we knew what was in his mind and more about his background.”

Weech was granted bail on condition that he does not contact the girls in question, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has no contact with anyone under the age of 16, unless supervised by an adult, and has no social-media contact with anyone under 18.
