This Worksop pub has re-opened after a £300,000 facelift

The Innings in Worksop is the latest local Marston’s pub to be relaunched under the new sports concept, Grandstand, with new market-leading big screen technology, menus, and events.

The Innings has undergone a full facelift, following investment of £300,000.

Its refurbishment includes the installation of market-leading technology, including multiple massive screens, a state-of-the-art sound system, and flexible tiered seating for great views of the action.

The beer garden has new TV screens, and locals will be able to order through the Marston’s ‘Order and Pay’ app.

Decorated with local sports memorabilia, the pub is still on the hunt for photographs and merchandise, giving locals the chance to celebrate the achievements of local sports stars and teams, past and present.

Billy and Carol Cudworth were the community heroes chosen to pull the first pint and officially mark the pub’s opening. The couple has worked closely with the Innings for years, raising money at monthly charity events and participating in the pub's ‘Soul and Motown’ nights.

The pub will show all key sporting fixtures, including football, rugby, cricket, tennis, F1, darts, and horse racing. There are regulation dart boards and pool tables, with new competition leagues and ‘free to play’ recreational sessions.

A new menu features light bites such as chicken wings, nachos, and burgers, perfect for sharing, and a refreshed drink range has all draught beer available in two-pint cups.

Local sports teams can get their hands on a ‘Black Card’, securing them bottomless fries when they visit for team drinks, and more rewards if they win their game.

The Grandstand concept was introduced after research revealed 8.5M consumers have watched sports games at the pub, and 86 per cent of sports fans say that they watch games at sports pubs due to a livelier atmosphere, better screens, sound, and connecting with friends and family.

Marston’s picked the Innings to receive the Grandstand makeover due to its involvement with local sports teams, community groups, and charities.

Marston’s operations manager, Claire Bateman, said: “We’re so excited to reopen Innings as a Grandstand pub. We know how passionate our locals are about sport, and we’re looking forward to offering them the best possible experience, with fantastic facilities and a brilliant atmosphere to enjoy all the action together.”
