Notts: Fire chiefs to visit all businesses ahead of Christmas
Businesses in Notts are being warned not to put themselves, their staff and customers at risk in the run up to Christmas by overstocking and blocking fire exits and escape routes.
Officers from Notts Fire and Rescue Service are carrying out visits to businesses during the festive period to ensure owners are complying with safety legislation and are not compromising fire safety standards by putting profit before safety.
Fire protection business advocate, Paul Cooper, said: “While it is hoped that businesses can have a prosperous festive period, the main priority must be the safety of the customers and visitors to the premises.”
