Sundown Adventureland named the UK’s eighth most affordable theme park for families

The school holidays are in full swing, but keeping the kids entertained doesn't have to cost a fortune.

Outdoor play specialists at outdoortoys analysed entry prices across UK theme parks to reveal the most affordable parks for family days out this summer.

Sundown Adventureland came in eighth spot with a child admission price of £25.95.

Playland Fun Park in Worcestershire tops the list as the UK’s most affordable theme park for the third year running, with free entry and rides starting at just £1. Kids can enjoy over 24 attractions without an admission fee.

The Web Adventure Park ranks as the second most affordable theme park. The park charges £12.50 for children’s entry. With access to 12 rides, including the Giant Jungle play area, it's perfect for family fun on a budget.

Camel Creek Family Adventure Park and Fantasy Island in Skegness are coming in joint third place, holding steady at £22.50 for children’s entry.

Sundown Adventureland is a popular destination that has been operating at its Retford home for nearly 60 years.

The popular theme park for under 10s was recently ranked the sixth best theme park in the UK by Trip Advisor.

The 30-acre park welcomes 250,000 visitors each year. Open all year round except for two weeks in November and from Christmas Day until February half term, the under 10s theme park offers family fun and adventure, as well as nostalgic memories for local residents.

The park’s attractions include rides such as WILD Ostrich Safari Ride, Rocky Mountain Railroad, Jolly Pirate Barrel Ride, Robin Hood’s Merry Adventure, Okie Yolkie and Giddy Piggies, as well as the Monkey Mayhem Driving School.

Children can also explore play areas Angry Birds Activity Park, Market Square, Shotgun City, Sunnydown Farm, Fort Apache, Rodeo Corral, Captain Sandy’s Play Cove, Storybook Village and Monkey Mischief.
