SJR create club history after winning FA Cup first round tie
SJR Worksop secure convincing win at South Shields in historic win for the club
SJR Worksop women created club history after beating South Shields 3-0 away to secure their place in the FA Cup second round.

A Toni McHamilton brace and one from Reagan Hynson wrapped up a famous win for the Nottinghamshire side.

It is the first time that SJR Worksop Women have reached the Second Round of the Women’s FA Cup and means they are now the only club alongside Sheffield United remaining in the competition from the Sheffield & Hallamshire FA.
They also become the first Worksop team to reach the Second Round of the FA Cup since the 1955/56 season.
As the visitors began to take control, Emma White tested the South Shields goalkeeper with a good effort.
The breakthrough arrived courtesy of a moment of real quality when McHamilton headed home from Rachael Bell’s pass.
A second quickly followed when McHamilton bagged another after great work from Chelsea Bailey broke up a home attack.
The memorable win was wrapped up when Hynson combined well with McHamilton before smashing home a beauty.
It left chairman Andrew Guest reflecting on the club’s superb achievement.
“We are incredibly proud of this group of players, the management team and everyone who has played a part in getting us here,” he said.
“And perhaps most remarkably, we have taken Worksop football back to a place it hasn’t been for 70 years.
“But the journey isn’t over. There is little time to celebrate, with attention quickly turning back to league matters and another important away fixture against Stamford.
“Then it’s back to FA Cup action, as Halifax travel to SJR for the Second Round next week.”
