On Wednesday 1st May, they took on Welbeck Abbey and Rampton Village Bowls Clubs in the first inter-club match.

With Rampton short of players, Welbeck loaned them a player to complete three teams or four for each club.

The result was a close match, with a win for Rampton in the first leg.

On Sunday 5th May Welbeck hosted the first of their club cup matches, and 46 members took part in a hotly contested competition for the Roy Bamford Cup.

Winner of the two bowls drive David Gascoyne was presented with the cup and a bottle of wine by Hilary Wignell, team captain for the 2013 season.

Bank Holiday Monday produced another good turnout, on a hot afternoon, for a Club Drive.

The winner on this occasion was John Hallam, and he received a bottle of wine from event organiser Andy Pointon.

On Sunday Welbeck hosts Arthur’s Shield, another two bowls drive, at 2pm.
