Road rage on A46 Lincoln Bypass

Police are appealing for witnesses for a road rage incident on the A46 Lincoln Bypass between the Skellingthorpe roundabout and the Carholme roundabout.

This incident took place at around 7pm on Sunday 15th March.

The victim was driving north along the A46 when a light coloured or white Audi saloon came up behind. The Audi was being driven erratically and trying to overtake the victim.

Eventually the offender did manage to overtake but then pulled up sharply just after the Skellinghtorpe roundabout causing the victim to stop.

The Audi driver then got out of his car and began shouting and screaming whilst banging on the window of the victims car.

The victim manoeuvred and tried to drive off whereupon the Audi driver ripped off the wing mirror of the car he had stopped.

The offender is described as a white male, aged 30 to 40 with mousy brown short hair. He wore spectacles and was of medium or athletic build.

Anyone who witnessed this incident or who has any information about it is asked to call the 101 non-emergency number. Alternatively they can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

The investigating officer is PC Mary Johns.
