Worksop's Danielle feels 'more prepared' for World Dryland Championships after racing in Sweden
No sooner is she back from racing with her huskies in a European Championships in Sweden, than Worksop's Danielle Marshall will be off again – to do the New York Marathon.
Tired but 'exhilarated' following her travel in an adapted van to represent Team GB at the European Dryland Championships in Sweden last weekend, Danielle, 31, has a quick turnaround before jetting off with husband Jacob next week to put her own legs to the test.
Then next month she will compete again with her team of dogs in the World Dryland Championships in Germany.
Her journey to Sweden was the first time Danielle has driven her four dogs via the Channel tunnel to compete abroad. She was nervous at the prospect but said in the event it all ran very smoothly.

She met her friend and coach Vickie Pullin with her van and eight dogs along the route.
There were one or two hitches when racing - and although Danielle returned without a medal this time she was delighted with her dogs' performance, and said she gained valuable experience for next month's event.
Vickie brought gold, silver and bronze medals from three of her six races, she added.
Danielle said: "It was one race a day over four days for me. We struggled on Saturday as the terrain was very hilly - like a rollercoaster - and took a lot of effort to negotiate."

There was a tangle with the dogs on Sunday when Willow jumped over Moose, she added, and a spectator helped to unravel them, but that aside, the team ran exceptionally well that day, with Willow performing "incredibly".
Danielle has competed nationally several times, winning silver medals in both four-dog rig and two-dog scooter, qualifying her to compete internationally.
In Europe she raced in bikejor and scooter with huskies Luna, Willow, Siri and Moose. She is passionate about raising awareness of dryland sled dog sports and encouraging more Siberian Husky owners to get involved in racing.
"By going over and competing at that level it has made me hungry to go back and aim for a medal next time," said Danielle. "It was the best experience ever".
