Dinno expects!

There was a sea of red and white in Dinnington on Monday as England kicked off their first match of the Euro 2012 tournament.

Football kits were proudly worn and flags waved as Dinnington folk watched Roy Hodgson’s men take on France.

Our photographer was on hand to capture the scenes in the Little Mester and Ye Olde Village Club as fans gathered to watch the match.

The pub erupted after 30 minutes when Joleon Lescott put England into the lead and spirits were high that Roy’s men could sneak a result.

But the excitement soon turned to frustration when Samir Nasri netted an equaliser just nine minutes later.

Spirits remained high and football lovers continued to cheer on the team to a 1-1 score.

The country will now turn its attention to this evening’s match when England take on Sweden in their second group match.
