Dinnington: Students accepted onto uni courses

Mr Blackwell said all students who were hoping to go to university have been accepted on their courses.

The school’s results saw significant improvements on last year, with AS results setting a new record, and A levels matching their best ever performance.

The number of students achieving A* - C grades was 64 per cent, which is three per cent higher than in 2012.

And 22 per cent of students gained A*s and As - the top scores available. This was 18 per cent more than last year.

At AS level, students scoring A* - E grades amounted to 89 per cent, up 14 per cent on 2012.

“These are a fantastic set of results and a testament to the hard work put in by teachers, governors, parents and of course students,” said Mr Blackwell.

“They prove once again that the students at Dinnington Comprehensive School can compete successfully against those from across the country.”

“I would now like to wish all students going on to university or into apprenticeships all the very best.”

The school has made a special mention of its highest achievers who were:

Sharon Greyling, Roxanne Kudie and Josie Porter who each achieved an A* and two As, Richard Holroyd who got three As and a B, and Chloe Bell who gained two starred distinction and a distinction.
