“I am extremely proud and privileged to be part of this success story. The overall results have been excellent and the best in the history of the school and certainly since I became a governor in 1986.”

She paid tribute, on behalf of the governing body, to the extremely hard work undertaken by Mr Blackwell and by all of the staff.

“The governing body has given many hours of support to the school above and beyond its role and has been ‘a critical friend’ in every sense. For this I am very thankful,” she said.

“The students, who were praised by Ofsted earlier this year both for their attitude to learning and their behaviour, have proved that they can respond to good teaching and are excellent ambassadors for the school.”

“Finally I would like to thank the parents and guardians of our students who have supported the school in its endeavours to make this result possible. I trust that they and the wider community of the school will continue with that support and move the school forward to a very positive new year.”
