Creswell: Open day at equestrian centre

The Coloured Cob Equestrian Centre at Creswell is opening its doors on Sunday 6th April to give people the chance to see the stables and the work they do for the Worksop and District Riding for the Disabled Group.

The open day will run from 12–3pm with lots of activities and stalls.

There will be pony rides, the chance to groom a pony, face painting, tombola, cake stall and refreshments. There will also be a demonstration from the Worksop and District Riding for the Disabled Group at 2pm.

Janie Hancock, who instructs the group, says: ‘We are putting on this open day to allow local people to come and see the work we do, hopefully recruit some new volunteers and to raise awareness of the sessions we run in the hope that the service can be utilised by more local people with special needs.”

“We hope to see as many people as possible at the event.”

Every Sunday a group children and young people with varying disabilities or special needs ride the ponies and interact with the volunteers.
