And to celebrate the school has planned a number of special events.
On 11th July there will be an open day, with the chance to have a tour to see how much the school has changed over the years.
There will be an exhibition of memorabilia from the last 50 years, which will also tour to local venues.
There are also plans to publish a book with photos and stories to raise money for the school’s adopted charities, as well as reunions and special assemblies.
“The school would like the help of the local community,” said teacher Andrew Blench.
“Perhaps you have a venue for the exhibition or some old photos or items you could loan to the school?”
“Would you be willing to be interviewed by student journalists about your time at the school? Perhaps you are ex-student who has achieved success in your career, which you attribute to the education you received?”
