SJR Women's Community end pre-season with thumping win

SJR Women Commununity ended pre-season unbeaten after thumping Barnsley U21s 7-0.

Lilly Brown and Mia Stevenson both bagged a brace with goals from Tammy Snell, Emily Murphy and Sarah Harvey completing the comprehensive win.

Having won five and drawn one of their previous six fixtures, SJR carried that confidence into the game and were on the front foot from the first whistle.

Excellent possession, sharp passing and relentless attacking play created chance after chance, while the defensive unit were equally impressive, keeping Barnsley at bay and securing another clean sheet.

SJR went into half-time 4-0 up and continued in much the same fashion after the break, using the width brilliantly and constantly putting pressure on the Barnsley defence.

A valuable runout for the squad, with plenty of minutes under the belt and fitness continuing to build.
