Goals from Rach Bell and Chelsea Bailey put the visitors in charge before the Belles battled back to deny SJR a famous win.

As anticipated, Doncaster got on the front foot and enjoyed the majority of possession in the SJR half.

But it was the visitors who got the opener when Bell headed home a Freya Topliss free-kick to send them in ahead at half-time.

As expected, the second half brought more pressure from a Belles side determined to get back on top.

Pip Davies pulled off a great save from a Belles free kick, while at the other end Millie Clarke came close after doing some excellent work with the ball.

Bailey then doubled the advantage with a good finish after finding space in the box.

Like all good sides, Doncaster found a way back into the game and quickly pulled a goal back, before getting back on level terms after Bailey had seen a key chance to make it 3-1 go begging.

SJR would probably have taken a point at the beginning of the game against one of the title favourites, although there will understandably be a little disappointment at having been 2–0 up and not seeing the game out.

The ladies are back at home on Sunday against Loughborough.
