Latest round of road improvements announced for Bassetlaw
More work on Bassetlaw’s roads will be carried out this month
Road users in Bassetlaw will continue to see highway improvement works delivered throughout November as part of Nottinghamshire County Council's record £181.25 million Highway Capital Maintenance Programme.

The month will see major roadworks carried out on the A638 North Road in Retford, the A57 at Markham Moor and the entire length of Galway Avenue in Bircotes.
Alongside these carriageway improvements, the footway on High Street and Lincoln Road in East Markham will be reconstructed and widened to enhance accessibility and improve conditions for pedestrians.
Councillor Bert Bingham, Cabinet Member for Transport and Environment at Nottinghamshire County Council, said, "As we head into winter, we remain focused on keeping the county moving safely and reliably through all weather conditions.
“Repairs and improvements will continue throughout the season, with up to 50 highway maintenance teams operating across Nottinghamshire at peak times, delivering permanent first-time repairs wherever possible, alongside resurfacing, patching and other preventative treatments.
"While there is always more to do, the scale of work being delivered demonstrates our commitment to improving the condition of the highway network and tackling the issues that matter most to local communities.”
More than 450 carriageway resurfacing and treatment schemes have been scheduled for delivery this year and October marked a significant milestone with the completion of the county's 250th surfacing scheme of the 26/27 financial year.
