KIVETON named a changed side to the one that beat Glapwell, dueto the suspension of key players, and suffered defeat at home.

Thorne started very well, controlling the midfield and creating several chances.

Jonny Parker was in good form again thwarting efforts from Thorne, twice foiling one on one chances.

Thorne took a deserved lead when, ,in the 40th minute a corner was cleared to the edge of the box and was met by the Thorne captain who smashed home from 18 yards into the roof of the net, off the under side of the bar.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Thorne controlling the game through their skipper.

Eventually their dominance paid dividends when a through ball found the striker in space, he struck a good shot low to the keeper’s right and despite Parker getting a hand to the ball it was 2-0.

Thorne were then awarded a penalty when Parker upended a Thorne player, however, the penalty was put wide of goal.

The final goal of the game came with 10 minutes to go and was the result of poor marking, as the away side found plenty of space before neatly finishing.
