On winning the toss, the visitors chose to bat, but at 11 for 2 and 53 for 3, looked to have hit a buffer.

Sam Johnson, with 72 and Dominic Brown (62) then added 124 for the fourth wicket, before both departing in the space of five runs.

An 18 ball 31 from George Bacon, in a rapid 53 run stand with Alex King pushed the final total to 235 for 5.

The Cavs reply was in early trouble at 9 for 2. This became 81 for 2 as Akhil Patel (33) and Adeel Shafique (32) rebuilt the innings.

From there though, it was all about Chris Glover and Alex King.

The pair shared the remaining eight wickets, Glover taking 4 for 28 and King 4 for 48 as the Cavs folded to 132 all out.

Plumtree lifted themselves back into second after becoming the first visiting side to avoid defeat at Radcliffe-on-Trent in five matches.

The Plums invited their hosts to bat first, reducing them to 55 for 4 before a stand of 109 between Joe Wilcox (41) and Rob Sutton.

Sadly for Radcliffe, when Sutton fell for 83, the innings lost momentum and the ended all out on 223 in the 44th over.

Nathan Rimmington led the bowlers with 4 for 70, assisted by Bobby Gamble’s 3 for 50.

A solid opening stand of 89 set the tone for the Plumtree reply, led by an unbeaten 91 from Hassan Azad, who carried his bat, and 32 from Nathan Rimmington toward the end, as they secured the win in the 48th over.

Caythorpe were the big losers at the top of the table, slumping to a home defeat to Ordsall Bridon.

The home side won the toss and opted to bowl, riding an early storm as Sufian Munir and Martyn Long (41) made a rapid 63 opening stand.

Jim Hindson came on and started to tie up the Bridon bats.

His 15 overs costing just 33 runs and netting seven wickets, reducing Bridon to 134 for 9.

The innings was bookended by another solid partnership as Gary Andrews teamed with Henry Appleyard (45*) to take the total to 183 all out in the 49th over. Caythorpe made a solid start in reply and, at 99 for 2, looked favourites.

Asad Ali and Liam Andrews had other ideas, and once Martyn Dobson fell for 64, the innings crumbled.

Ali finishing with 4 for 29 and Andrews 3 for 14, dismissing their hosts for just 139 with five overs remaining.

The result lifts Ordsall out of the bottom two.

Cuckney climbed to fourth in the table with their 102 run win at Clifton Village.

Cuckney chose to bat after winning the toss, making 254 all out, using up all but five balls.

Adam Shepherd was the pick of the bowling with 5 for 72.

Clifton were well placed at 122 for 3 after Aitizaz Khan had made 54 at a run a ball, but the innings would belong to Trent Lawford and Ian Parkin.

The innings collapsed to 152 all out, as Parkin grabbed 5 for 46 and Lawford 5 for 48 to skittle the home side in the 40th over.

Farnsfield dropped into the bottom two following Bridon’s win and their draw with the Notts Academy.

Academy chose to bat first and with Tom Keast (33) and Lyndon James (30) helping to set the table, Jake Libby feasted.

Libby scored an unbeaten 130, batting all 50 overs to lead his side to 268 for 7. Jamie Wagstaff’s 3 for 64 leading the defence.

Farnsfield’s reply was a backs to the wall effort, batting the full 50 overs to score 114 for 7.

An effort underpinned by Charles Wilson and Jamie Wagstaff who scored 29 runs between them from 140 balls.

The days’ other game saw Welbeck beat Attenborough by six wickets.

Attenborough made 193 all out, Dominic Harvey 61 not out and Matt Cross making 40. Andrew Parkin-Coated claimed 3 for 47.
