NCB Premier League week 20 preview

This weekend they welcome Farnsfield, with their visitors having drawn their last two but sitting in the bottom two after Ordsall leap-frogged them last weekend.

Kimberley’s form is stunning with eight wins and two winning draws since their last defeat against the Cavaliers in early June.

Plumtree are probably the only club likely to overtake them if they slip and they have a home fixture against those same West Indian Cavaliers.

The PCG has not been a happy hunting ground for the Cavs, having lost their on their two most recent visits and after a four-run winning sequence in July, they have lost their last two.

Plumtree got back to winning ways last weekend with a comprehensive six-wicket win over Radcliffe but will be without Australian Nathan Rimmington who has returned home to prepare for the season Down Under.

The sides placed in third and fourth are still in with a theoretical chance of lifting the title and they meet this weekend as Caythorpe travel north to Cuckney.

Cuckney’s James Hawley missed the chance to showcase his skills against his former side earlier this year as the reverse fixture was washed out.

If the battle at the top is now realistically a two-horse race, there are four clubs who are theoretically in danger of slipping out of the league but Radcliffe look the least likely.

This weekend they travel to Attenborough and are hopeful that Notts’ star all-rounder Steve Mullaney will be appearing for them and help prevent them losing three on the trot.

The home side are bottom of the table and 25 points adrift from safety but three positive results will make life interesting.

Ordsall moved out of the relegation spots with their win last weekend away at Caythorpe and will look to carry that form into Saturday’s game when they welcome Welbeck to All Saints Lane.

The visitors form has improved after winning their last two, with skipper Simon Widdup leading from the front with unbeaten innings of 98 and 46 respectively in those two victories.

Ordsall have also won their last two and will feel another win would go a long way to securing their Premier League status.

The weekend’s roster is completed when Clifton travel to Lady Bay to take on the Nottinghamshire Academy.
