Further frustration for Nottinghamshire as rain hits day two against Warwickshire

There was further frustration for Warwickshire and Nottinghamshire at Edgbaston today when their LV=County Championship match belatedly got underway - but only very briefly.

After a first day washout, the start of the second day was delayed half an hour to allow the ground to dry before a start was made at 11am.

But after Nottinghamshire, put in, began their innings, only four overs were possible, during which they advanced to 16 without loss, before another heavy shower arrived.

An early lunch was taken and with sunny spells forecast there is a chance of further play today, but the match looks doomed to a draw already with only four overs having been bowled in the first four sessions.

Warwickshire have made one change to their team, tweaking their top order with Laurie Evans returning for William Porterfield.

Nottinghamshire have welcomed back Alex Hales and James Taylor from England duty and were forced into a change in the seam department with Harry Gurney troubled by a stiff neck so replaced by Luke Fletcher.
