Draw ahead as rain wrecks Warwickshire clash again for Nottinghamshire

The LV=County Championship match between Warwickshire and Nottinghamshire at Edgbaston is already pretty much sentenced to a draw after the weather permitted just four overs play on the second day.

After a first day washout, just 15 minutes cricket was possible on the second before rain returned - and kept on returning every time there appeared a glimmer of hope of play.

Not even a spectacular double rainbow could alleviate the gloom for the smattering of spectators who watched Nottinghamshire, put in, advance to 16 without loss, before the weather closed in again.

Nottinghamshire openers Brendon Taylor and Alex Hales survived those overs intact, the latter collecting six runs to take his championship career tally against Warwickshire to 889. He averages 98.11 in four-day cricket against the Bears - 114.16 at Edgbaston.

Warwickshire have made one change to their team, tweaking their top order with Laurie Evans returning for William Porterfield.

Nottinghamshire have welcomed back Hales and James Taylor from England duty but were forced into a change in the seam-bowling department. Harry Gurney is troubled by a stiff neck so has been replaced by Luke Fletcher.
