Outlaw Hardy hoping for victorious UFC homecoming

UFC star Dan ‘the Outlaw’ Hardy makes a long awaited return to his native city of Nottingham this weekend, hoping for a similar result to his last hometown fight.

Four and a half years ago welterweight Hardy had his hand raised at the Harvey Hadden Sports Centre, after a TKO win over American Chad Reiner.

That was Hardy’s penultimate bout before signing a deal with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, and now the Team RoughHouse standout is set for his ninth outing with the world famous mixed martial arts promotion.

On Saturday night Hardy will star in a co-main event billing, taking on Amir Sadollah at the CapitalFM Arena.

Victory would make it two in a row for Hardy, who is 5-4 in his UFC career.

The 30-year-old snapped a four-fight losing streak with a spectacular left-hook knockout win over Duane Ludwig in May of this year.

Elsewhere on the card, fellow Brits Brad Pickett, submission expert Paul Sass, Che Mills and Tom Watson will all be in action.
