Fire crews from Worksop and Tuxford attended the incident which occurred shortly before 8.30am on the stretch of the A57 between the A60 island and Netherton Road.

Two cars, a Vauxhall Corsa and BMW were involved with both drivers injured in the crash.

The driver of the BMW managed to free himself from the wreckage of his car but the nature of his injuries meant he was immediately air lifted to hospital in Sheffield when the emergency services arrived.
