Worksop: Guardian reporter takes the ice bucket challenge

The ice bucket challenge is currently sweeping the social media world and the Guardian have done their bit for the cause after reporter John Smith took up the challenge after being nominated by friends.

Everyone from movie stars to mechanics has been posting videos on Facebook and Twitter in the last month of themselves having buckets of icy water poured over them for charity.

People then text the word ‘ice’ to 70550 to donate money to various charities, with the Macmillan one of the main beneficiaries from this latest burst of global online fund-raising.
