Worksop: Dog walkers are being reminded about Serious Canine Illness
Cases of this illness are usually seen between August and November.
It can affect dogs of any size, shape or sex and can cause dogs to become ill after being walked in any woodland.

Hide AdCommon clinical signs are sickness, diarrhoea and lethargy, which are typically experienced within 72 hours of the dog being walked in the woodland.
The cause of SCI is unknown and there are currently no ways to prevent it happening.
If you suspect your dog is showing signs of SCI then please contact your vet immediately.
Topical spray treatments can be bought from the vets to protect dogs before a walk.
