The report categorised Newgate Medical Group, on Newgate Street, Worksop, in the ‘highest concern’ band.

Mr Mann said: “My experience with the Newgate Practice has been positive in relation to treatment although I know that there have been some complaints about delays in getting appointments.”

“I would tend to trust the judgement of local residents, however it is important that this independent report and its concerns are fully addressed.”

“There is no need for anyone to panic, nor do I advise that there is a need for anyone to consider changing their GP purely because of this report.”

“I have convened an urgent meeting with local NHS leaders to find out what they intend to do and also to clarify why these issue have not been raised with me in previous meetings.”
