Worksop: 93-year-old World War Two veteran raises cash for Help for Heroes

Ken Beard was accompanied by sea cadet Alysha, 13, in generating cash for wounded, injured and sick service personnel.

Along with the Notts team of volunteers and Hero Bear they collected donations and looked after the merchandise stall in the Priory Centre.

Tony Eaton, regional coordinator at Help for Heroes, said: “The public again came up trumps to support Help for Heroes.”

“A big thankyou to the centre manager Lynette and her team of security staff for all their help setting up.”

“Well done and a big thankyou to the people of Bassetlaw for all their generous support again.”
