Here are the 14 adorable dogs in Nottinghamshire – waiting for their forever owners to take them home...

5. Ben
Ben is a two year old Labrador. He is a friendly, active young man. He is a shining example of the Labrador breed. He has been in Macedonia for most of his life but he has been overlooked one too many times so it was decided that he was ready to travel to the UK so that he can WOW potential adopters in person. Friendly with everyone he meets, loves playing with his ball, playing fetch in the garden and going on long walks. He would suit just about any setting as he is absolutely lovely with people and children. Even people he has never met before, he is everyone’s best friend, especially if you have a bit of chicken or sausage. Ben is very food motivated, typical of the breed, and is easily trainable. He is easily bribed with food. It is advised that his adopters keep him on a high protein diet to maintain a healthy weight, as he is in great shape. He would suit an active family or individual, he is used to spending time outdoors, having good long walks and exercise. He would make a great running buddy. He is great with children but he can be rambunctious due to his young age so it is suggested that he is best suited to live with children over 12. See doggydensukrescue.co.uk/ben/ for more details. 6. Bruce
This handsome boy is a six year old mixed medium breed. Bruce is back again after being returned. Through no fault of his own, his adopter just couldn’t handle an extra dog in the house. Bruce is a well loved resident at Doggy Dens, all of his carers love him and he loves them right back. Bruce is a big soft fluff-ball but he will need a home who has previous experience with rescue dogs as he can be a bit timid when first entering new situations. Bruce is socially neutral on walks and could share his home with a resident dog, he has previously home shared with a lurcher, introductions should be slow and steady. He loves a walk and is very polite when on lead but he can be a bit funny with male dogs, he is a bit of a ladies man and prefers female dogs. He would be okay in a home with another dog but slow introductions are crucial. Visit doggydensukrescue.co.uk/bruce/ for more details. Photo: Doggy Dens UK Rescue

7. Freddie
Freddie is three and is a mixed Labrador. Freddie is a very friendly young boy who is in need of an experienced owner who is familiar with larger breeds. Freddie is very intelligent and loved a good run around the garden with his toy. He can be a bit boisterous when he is excited and due to his large size he would not be rehomed with children, but older teenagers will be considered especially if they are dog savvy. He would suit an active family who can handle his bursts of energy. But at the end of the day, Freddie loves a snuggle just as much as any dog. He loves a chill out in the caravan and likes to lean against you so you can pop an arm round and watch TV together. Freddie is a Leishmaniasis positive dog. Leishmaniasis is a parasitic disease caused by infection with Leishmania parasites. This is not contagious. See doggydensukrescue.co.uk/freddie/ for more information. Photo: Doggy Dens UK Rescue

8. Little Fred
Little Freddie is a one year old Lab mix. He is an active little boy who will need a home willing to put the work in to help him grow into the well-rounded dog we know he is. He is crate trained, in face he LOVES his crate, and knows he can go their to chill out on his own with a chew. He will need rules, boundaries and training. He is still young and entering his “teenage phase” because of this the rescue said they would not rehome him with young children as he can be quite clumsy and could easily knock over younger children. He walks well on the lead but can be bouncy when excited or overstimulated. Little Fred could live with another dog, potentially an older more established dog to show him the ropes, but they would need to be slowly introduced before adoption. He could also potentially live with a cat as he has shown no reaction to them in the past but again we would recommend slow steady introductions.
