Here are the 14 adorable dogs in Nottinghamshire – waiting for their forever owners to take them home...

13. Syd
Syd is a two year old medium mixed breed. Syd is a very loved resident of the kennels, he has been at the kennels for a while and will need an adopter who is understanding of his quirks. A potential owner would need to put the work in and be willing to meet with our trainer if necessary. He walks beautifully on the lead and is very well trained but is lacking in confidence. He would make a great agility dog and may need an active family, however he would not be rehomed with children. He has lived with other dogs previously but cannot live with cats. He has tested negative for brucellosis, leishmaniasis and has passed his Snap 4D test which tests for heartworm, ehrlichia and anaplasma. Syd is a healthy, happy boy. See doggydensukrescue.co.uk/syd/ for more details. Photo: Doggy Dens UK Rescue

14. Big Fred
Here is Big Fred. He is a five year old Labrador mix. Big Fred is a lovely dog who would like a home where he can stretch his legs. He is a very handsome big boy who has been overlooked because of his large size. He walks exceptionally well on the lead and is neutral with other dogs while out, he could potentially live with another dog but would much prefer a home where he has all the attention. He is an older rescue originally from Romania, he is very well trained and friendly with all his carers. He does have the potential to be very strong and can be clumsy so we ask that he not be rehomed with young children. Big Fred is not cat friendly. He loves a go round the field with his football but knows how to chill out on the sofa or in his crate, he loves a good crunchy buffalo horn. Big Fred is a truly wonderful dog with a great personality and a charming silly streak, he just needs a chance to get out of the kennels and into a home. He has so much love to give.
