Here are the 14 adorable dogs in Nottinghamshire – waiting for their forever owners to take them home...

9. Han Solo
Han Solo is a four month old Small/Medium mix breed. He is the tiny white fluff ball that was picked up from the dump late last year. He was rescued by our kennel manager Jade and she refused to leave him behind. Han Solo has beaten all the odds and has fought for his life to be where he is today. He is such a fantastic little chap. Friendly with everyone and would suit an active family who can keep up with all his puppy energy. He was in Macedonia while Doggy Dens waited for him to be big enough to travel and he will arrive in the UK on Good Friday, ready to meet and greet his potential adopters. Since Han Solo is a puppy, he is a completely blank slate. He is a bouncy boy and can be a bit excitable so he would not be rehomed with young children. He has been cat tested and is absolutely fine with them. Han Solo could live with other dogs, we would love to see him living with another doggy sibling so he has someone to play with. 10. Colin
Colin is a large Labrador mix, aged 3. Mr Colin is a dog who has been in the kennels for a while. He has spent most of his life with Doggy Dens, waiting for his ideal forever home. He’s a loveable, cheeky chap who would be looking for a home that has in-depth knowledge, training and experience working with foreign rescue dogs and dogs with behavioural issues. He loves his food (sometimes a little too much). He is highly trainable and knows most tricks in the book: sit, down, roll over, stay… You name it! He walks perfectly to heel and has fantastic lead training. He is dog friendly and very polite with dogs he meets on walks. Colin is also fine with cats and small animals outside the house. While Colin has made some great doggy friends at the kennels we would prefer him to be the only dog in the home as he does not believe that “sharing is caring”. He can get protective of his food and toys, resulting in guarding behaviour, we are currently working on this with him and managing appropriately. This would need to be continued in his new home. See doggydensukrescue.co.uk/colin/ for more details. Photo: Doggy Dens UK Rescue

11. Baloo
Baloo is a three year old Caucasian Shepherd. Baloo is a lovely lad who is looking for a forever home, he has been at the kennel for a while and it is believed that his ideal home will come along soon. Once he has decided to trust someone, he is extremely loving and affectionate with a charming, cheeky silly streak that we love to see. He is a proper character. Baloo ideally needs an active owner/couple to keep him entertained and stimulated. No children due to his size. He walks very well on the lead and is neutral with other dogs, he has not lived with other dogs before but could potentially if introductions are done slowly, Baloo cannot live with cats or small animals. He loves to play football and is not afraid of tackling, he hasn’t quite learnt what a “yellow card” is. He is very healthy and is fed a raw food diet. He is on the smaller end of the Caucasian Shepherd scale but he is still a muscular and strong lad so his lead training will need to be maintained. Baloo is extremely smart and knows lots of tricks and thrives when he is kept mentally stimulated. If love Baloo, you can read more at doggydensukrescue.co.uk/baloo/ Photo: Doggy Dens UK Rescue

12. Billy
Billy is seven. He is Jack Russell Mix and is a typical grouchy old man who likes what he likes. Billy can be selective but once he is home he knows it. Billy would like a quiet life in a home with no cats, no children and where he is the only dog in the house. Billy walks well on the lead and is neutral with dogs he sees but prefers to be left alone. He currently has his own little house at the kennels separate from the hustle and bustle. He is affectionate with his carers, but takes time to trust new people. Billy just needs someone to take a chance on him. He has tested negative for brucellosis, leishmaniasis and has passed his Snap 4D test which tests for heartworm, ehrlichia and anaplasma.
