Insp. Frank Burns has taken over the reins from Graham Lamin, who is now covering the Amber Valley area.

Having been a police officer for more than 19 years, Insp. Burns will oversee policing in Barlborough, Clowne, Creswell, Whitwell and the surrounding areas.

Originally from Liverpool, Insp. Burns began his career in 1994 in the Peartree area of Derby and has a background in CID.

As well as maintaining the tenth year of crime reduction, Insp. Burns is also keen to encourage his officers to fulfil their own potential and to make a difference to the communities they serve.

He said: “My priorities for the area are to help maintain the previous 10 years of reduction and to continue to target offenders and bring them to justice. To do this though we really need the help of the public who are our eyes and ears.”

“We want residents to feel confident they have a policing service they can trust, and to tell us about anything they feel is suspicious, so that we can take a proactive approach to tackling crime.”I
