The Meerkat mob have been getting acquainted with Mrs Milligan and Kerplunk, two female North African Crested Porcupines, who recently moved into Meerkat Mansion.

At just six-months-old they already dwarf their new companions, and may reach up to twenty-seven kilograms when fully grown.

Andrew Reeve, curator and manager, said: “Having so many baby animals arriving so early in the year has come as a wonderful surprise, and the we are very pleased with how our new additions to the animal collection at the Tropical Butterfly House are settling in.”
