For the first time Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue has launched its free fitness taster campaign for residents at their local retained fire stations.

The service hopes the sessions will encourage people to find out more about helping their local community by training to become an on-call firefighter.

Madeline Martin, recruitment officer for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue, said: “At this time of year many people are looking to be healthier, get fitter or for a fresh challenge.”

“You could actually achieve all of these things by joining your local fire station and a whole lot more too.”

“As an on-call firefighter you are paid for your time and receive full training.”
