The new factory, which will be the first one in the UK, will begin operations early next year.

Cerealto have been assisted in securing the facilities in Worksop by Bassetlaw Council and Notts County Council and their development teams.

Initially, Cerealto will be recruiting for 50 jobs on a phased basis.

Councillor Jo White, cabinet member for regeneration at Bassetlaw Council said: “We are delighted that Cerealto has chosen Worksop for its new UK factory, bringing

much needed jobs and opportunities for local people. Working with our partners at Invest in Nottingham, our regeneration and growth team has helped secure a sustainable

employer that has a clear commitment to local recruitment.”

Cerealto says the business is keen to grow the gluten-free aspect of the business, with the Worksop factory playing a key part.

It says it has a ‘distinguished track record’ in hiring disadvantaged people. Globally, 14 per cent of the workforce has faced hardship and barriers to find work. As part of its recruitment drive for the Worksop facility, Cerealto says it will be looking to replicate this model and hire talented, local workers who share its values.

Leader of Notts County Council, councillor Alan Rhodes said it is ‘fantastic news’ that the company announced it is opening in Worksop.

He said: “The factory will help create job opportunities for Worksop residents and boost the local economy.”

A spokesman for Cerealto said: “The new Worksop facility will also feature new technologies that will conserve energy, lower emissions and reduce waste, demonstrating Cerealto’s continued commitment to being a green and sustainable business.

“This is an exciting time for Cerealto. The company is looking forward to expanding its relationships with UK suppliers and customers to ensure it continues delivering what its customers want: innovative, top quality cereal-based products.”
