The renovation of the Grade II listed monument includes restoration of the surrounding stone steps, cleaning and re-gilding text, which was undertaken by a stone mason from the area.

Born in Hucknall, Zachariah Green was a renowned healer and philanthropist and, upon his death in 1897, £400 was raised by the public for the memorial.
