In Creswell, the fuel cap to a Nissan Micra parked at Model Village was damaged in the early hours on Sunday 23rd February, but nothing was stolen.

Community safety inspector Russell Dakin said: “Enquiries are currently on-going into these offences, and patrols are being stepped up. If anyone has any information, or notices anything suspicious then please get in touch.”

“We would also encourage drivers to park in well-lit, busy areas, or if possible in a position which makes it difficult to access the fuel cap. It is also worth considering having specialist security devices fitted to fuel tanks or caps to help prevent your vehicles from having fuel stolen.”

Anyone with information should contact Derbyshire police on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
