Bonfire fun

It’s that time of year again when you have to wrap up warm, get your sparklers at the ready and head out to a bonfire celebration.

Whether you are after a huge fireworks display, with all the trimmings or something a little quieter there is plenty going on in the area.

The Gainsborough Rotary Club is once again holding its annual fireworks display at Lea Park this year.

As well as a fantastic fireworks show there will be food and drink and a hog roast to protect you against the chilly autumn weather.

The event takes place on Saturday 5th November at 6.15pm. Admission is £4 for adults and £2 for children aged five and over.

Also on Saturday evening there is a Bonfire Party at Sturton-on-Stow.

Fun for all the family starts with a torchlight parade from Sturton Primary School and processes to the Recreation Field on Fleets Lane where the bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm.

A spectacular firework display will be the highlight of the evening, with refreshments available.

Admission is £4 for adults and £ for children under 12. There are no pets or sparklers allowed at this event.

But if you can’t wait until the night itself for some fabulous fireworks fun, then head to the Lincolnshire Showground tomorrow night (Friday).

Gates open at 4pm with a children’s fireworks display at 6.30pm.

The bonfire will be lit at 7pm before the main fireworks display bursts into life at 8.45pm.

Tickets cost £5.40 foe adults, £2.70 for children and £13.50 for a family ticket. A 10 per cent discount is available for booking online.
