Crucible Theatre, Sheffield: A Taste of Honey. Runs until Saturday 17th November. Various performances. Jo is 16 and fearless. Her boyfriend’s at sea, her mother’s gone AWOL and her due date is just around the corner. The only person she can rely on is herself. But with Geof, her new flatmate, by her side, this feisty teenager is about to take on the world. Set in 1950s Manchester and exploring Britain on the precipice of change, A Taste of Honey celebrates the spirit of one young girl with the strength to rebel against the social constraints of her time. SATURDAY

Acorn Theatre, Worksop: Jimmy Cricket’s Great Value For A Tenner Comedy Show. Shows starts at 7.30pm. The famous Irish comedian who wears the funny hat, the wellies on the wrong feet and regularly gets a letter from Mammy, is joined by very special guest Andy Greaves for a night of side-splitting fun and great entertainment. Tickets are £10, £2.50 for under 16s.

Majestic Theatre, Retford: Jackson - Live In Concert. Show starst at 7.30pm. Amir Sharma’s portrayal of Michael Jackson in his prime has to be the most vocally and visually accurate tribute to the King of Pop to have ever toured UK theatres. Amir is joined on the stage by a cast of musicians, singers and dancers who work their way through all the hits. He’s got the look, the moonwalk and above all, the voice! His renditions of Thriller, Beat it and Billie Jean are truly sensational. Tickets £18 for adults, £15 for children.

Theatre Royal, Nottingham: The Ladykillers. Runs until Saturday 3rd November. Various performances. From the writer of Father Ted, Graham Linehan, comes a hilarious and thrilling new adaptation of the celebrated Ealing comedy The Ladykillers, directed by Sean Foley (The Play What I Wrote). The Ladykillers is a classic black comedy; a sweet little old lady, alone in her house, is pitted against a gang of criminal misfits who will stop at nothing. Tickets £29.50 - £12.

TUESDAY

Lyceum Theatre, Sheffield: Vagina Monologues. Performance at 7.45pm. Eve Ensler’s hilarious Broadway and West End smash hit, The Vagina Monologues is back, starring TV favourites Clare Buckfield (Dancing on Ice, Two Point Four Children), Vicky Entwhistle (Coronation Street) and Hayley Tamaddon (Waterloo Road, Shameless). An unmissable show for every generation, bring your mum, your best friend, your sister or even your gran. City Hall, Sheffield: David Essex. Performance at 7.30pm. Legendary, singer, actor and composer, David Essex is back on the road in an eagerly awaited concert tour. David will take a candid journey through his amazing forty year career in his Over the Moon and On Stage concert tour performing all his classic hits from 19 Top 40 UK singles, 16 Top 40 albums and the iconic films That’ll Be The Day, Stardust and Silver Dream Racer along with his theatre triumphs that include originating the roles of ‘Che’ in Evita and ‘Fletcher Christian’ in Mutiny. Civic Theatre, Rotherham: Jeckyll and Hyde. Runs until Saturday 3rd November. Various performances. Rotherham Teachers Operatic Society present a captivating musical version of Robert Louis Stevenson’s story about a doctor who conducts an experiment on himself which results in bringing out the dark, murderous side of his inner self, “Mr. Hyde”. City Hall, Sheffield: Alice Cooper’s Halloween Night of Fear. Performance at 7pm. Alice Cooper returns to the UK once again for his third Halloween Night of Fear tour, a now annual institution of the macabre, celebration of gore and all out rock ‘n’ roll fright fest. Tickets £36.

ROYAL Concert Hall, Nottingham: Amy Macdonald. Performance at 7.30pm. Amy Macdonald, one of Europe’s biggest selling singer songwriters, returned this summer with a brand new album ‘Life In A Beautiful Light’. The album is riding high in the charts around Europe.
