Public response ‘truly amazing’

A VOLUNTEER has spoken of the “truly amazing” response from the community after lead thieves left a village church with a £38,000 repair bill.

The Standard ran a recent story detailing the horrendous run of thefts at All Saints’ Church in Misterton after it was targeted eight times in as many years.

There were two thefts just 48 hours apart during the summer and because of the repetitive nature of the crimes, the church’s insurance company would only pay out £5,000 of the £38,000 claim.
