It had been two weeks since the side were in action after the previous defeat to Clipstone was followed by a postponed game last week due to a heavily waterlogged pitch.

The visitors hit the front Just seven minutes into the game.

Worksop received another blow when captain Lucas Snell went down injured, causing a short delay to the game. He was able to continue playing, however he had to be replaced later on in the game due to the injury worsening.

The Tigers levelled four minutes after Snell’s injury concern when Jack Lewin scored a free-kick from 25 yards out.

Charlie Ray Jackson put the visitors back in front ten minutes before the break. Andrew Ozara saw two chances go begging for the hosts after good passes by Joe Johnson.

It was at this point where Snell’s injury worsened, causing him to make way off the pitch in an injury substitution. Snell made way as Skender Kirasniqi replaced Lucas.

Stapleford took charge just before half-time after doubling their lead before Yahir Barrios pulled one back minutes after the break.

But Worksop were once again two down after Stapleford scored a penalty following a foul by Johnson.

Up next for the under 21 side is Dinnington Town on Saturday followed by the visit of Ollerton Town next Thursday.
