A few days later they showed their mettle on the road, in Tuesday night’s 2-1 win over Chorley.

Saturday’s visitors to Sandy Lane achieved promotion through the play-offs last season after finishing third in the First Division.

Grantham Town

Grantham Town have experienced a mixed start to the season, losing one but winning three days later.

The Gingerbreads will be hoping to forget the opening day 4-2 defeat at home to FC United of Manchester behind. Jimmy Lindley was sent off for Town.

They bounced back in Tuesday’s game against Stafford to take all three points through Phil Watt 10 minutes from time, with only 10 men for the second game running.
