Hospice aided by a charity football tie

Manufacturing company, Eminox and West Lindsey District Council took part in the game to support St Barnabas Hospice.

Together they managed to raise £588.95 for the Morton based hospice, which provides support for people with life threatening illnesses.

Eminox, which is a big supporter of the hospice, challenged staff at the council to a game, which was held at the Trent Valley Academy in Gainsborough.

Staff at the council quickly scrambled a team together to take part but despite their best efforts Eminox won 2-0.

Nick Lyons, Eminox Managing Director said: “We are pleased to support St Barnabas and as such our Charities Committee has match funded the money raised to increase the total to £588.95 for the hospice.”

“We will continue to support St Barnabas in the future”.

Kay Chambers, hospice events fundraiser for the West Lindsey area was delighted with the support. She said: “County-wide we need to raise £3.1 million to keep the hospice going.”

“Eminox support us regularly and that continued support is essential for us.”

“We really are grateful to them and to everyone at West Lindsey for supporting St Barnabas Hospice.”

Coun Malcolm Parish chairman of the Prosperous Communities Committee said: “The team at West Lindsey were a good sport.”

“They quickly mustered up a team to take part in the event and all thoroughly enjoyed the match with Eminox.”

“The true winner of the event was the hospice, which really does rely on generous fundraisers to support them each year.”

“I was delighted to be able to jointly present the cheque to staff that do a fantastic job at the hospice.”
