Hero Waddle back

CHRIS Waddle has signed for Worksop, and will make his debut on 29th November.

The former Sheffield Wednesday and Tigers hero has agreed to play for Worksop Parramore in a benefit match for injured striker, and fellow former Tiger Lee Whittington.

The match, against Sheffield FC, will be played at Sandy Lane, with proceeds going to the Parras front man, who required surgery for a fractured cheekbone and eye socket – injuries sustained during a recent game – and is unable to earn a living for several months.

A Parramore statement said: “We are very grateful for Sheffield FC readily agreeing to participate.”

“Other celebrities have been invited and we will have items including signed shirts to raffle and auction.”

“Of course, the bar will be open from 6pm, with kick-off at 7.45pm and the snack cabin will be serving food and beverages.”

Admission will be £5, £3 for concessions.
