Cyclists go to Caistor

Joe Smith (15), Loll Dickenson, Colin Smith and Trevor Halstead enjoyed Sunday’s Gainsborough Aegir Cycling Club’s leisure ride to Caistor where a lunch stop was made at the arts and heritage centre.

Converted from a disused chapel with a lottery grant, the centre featured on the BBC One television series Village SOS last year.

Sunday 25th March sees the start of the Gainsborough Aegir Cycling Club 2012 racing season. Their first event is of five miles starting in Marton, and riders should meet near the church at 10.45am, first rider off at 11am.

On Wednesday 28th March there are 10-mile and juvenile seven-mile races starting on Laughton Lane, and riders should meet at 6.15pm with first rider off at 6.30pm.

There is also a figure of eight leisure ride on 25th March with a noon till 1pm lunch stop at Café Latte in Lord Street, Gainsborough - meet Roseway 9.20am or 12.50pm at Café Latte.
