Change of leadership at top

The leadership of the Monday Triples at West Lindsey Indoor Bowls Club has changed yet again, with defeat for Geoff Gray’s M1 team ending a five-match unbeaten run.

Geoff’s team lost 12-8 to Marjorie Ward’s M4 team and drop to third position in the league table.

Trevor Gaines’ M9 team returned to the top with three comfortable wins, including a 25-5 triumph over Keith Christian’s M7 team to give them the best shots difference.

Peter Mays’ M5 missed the chance to go top by only winning two out of their three matches.

M5 slipped up 18-8 against Barry Grocock’s second bottom M12, but are still major contenders.

Marjorie Ward’s M4 team are just too far away in fourth place.

Barry Grocock’s M12 team have won two out of three to just overtake Betty Cranmer’s M2 team.

Ken Walker’s outfit continue to dominate the Wednesday Sets League, Team 2 taking 12 points from their last two games.

Rosemary Woollard’s Team 7 beat Trevor Gaines’ fourth place Team 5 4-2 (2 shots), a decent result but with 10 points from two games Team 7 lose ground.

At the bottomDave Robinson’s Team 9 beat Enid Underwood’s Team 6 4-2 (3 shots) but they are still eight points adrift of Barry Grocock’s Team 1.

Bob and Wendy Baines continue to win easily and stay five points clear in the Thursday Pairs.

Bernard and Maureen Featherstone who also continue to win, albeit less convincingly, their only rival.

At the bottom, improving Carol Booth and Madge Gibbons have won again to make it two out of three.

They beat Peter Mays’ Team 4 by an exciting 10-9 and while they are still likely to finish bottom but should fare much better next season.

Geoff Gray’s F1 team return to the top of the Friday Mixed Triples League because it was their rival’s turn to lose this week.

Audrey Rogers’ F2 team lost 16-12 to Peter Mays’ much improved F2 team, trying to give three shots.

Peter’s team had been poor in the middle of the season but have picked up form.

Geoff’s F1 team started badly against John Thompson’s F6 team but recovered to comfortably win 22-15.

At the bottom Doreen Bee’s F4 team climb two places with an amazing 28- 6 thrashing of ‘Chubby’ Clark’s F5 team.
