Valley’s own 13-year-old, Matt Overton, equipped with tri-bars for the first time, rode his fastest time trial to date.

The youngster clocked 28.35, while another Valley rider, 14-year-old Ross Williams, in only his second race, came home in an excellent 31.41

In the seniors, Paul Pycroft was the standout rider, beating his brother Shaun for the first time with 26.32.

But while there were some outstanding rides on the night, Paul Brownless remained untroubled at the top of the standings, finishing over a minute clear of second man Andy Codd.
