Knitting, skateboarding and superheroes are among the new emojis which should be on our phones later this year.

Part of Emoji 11.0, 157 new graphics have been designed, with a vast range of new components, including a comprehensive covering of hair color - for red, curly, white, and baldness - which are available on men and women of any skin tone.

This will bring the total number of approved emojis to 2,823.

Other body parts - hands, and feet - will be available in a similar range of skin tones, as will sets of Superheroes and Supervillains.

Animal fans will be able to include images of kangaroos, llamas and swans in their messages, and sign off with a choice of new faces - hot, cold, woozy, pleading, and ‘Partying’.

There is also a slew of new icons for a range of subjects ranging from ‘Soap’ and ‘Magnet’ to ‘Petri Dish’ and ‘Hiking Boot’.

The new options, which should arrive in the second half of 2018, will be available before nine proposed ‘accessibility’ additions by Apple, slated for next year.

The iPhone maker’s attempt to better represent a wider range of people proposals emoji including a guide dog, hearing aid and prosthetic limbs, as well as people using canes and different types of wheelchairs.

The Apple-proposed set, if approved, will be part of Emoji 12.0, which should appear in the first half of 2019.
