Worksop: Elliott Kean scoops gold in Skills Show

Elliott Kean, 20, from Worksop competed against other young people in a three day Skills Show at the NEC in Birmingham.

The careers event aims to shape the future of the next generation and encourages students to take part in practical challenges.

It also exposes students to career opportunities around them.

One of the challenges saw groups of students construct a solar oven made from cardboard and silver foil. There were three judges looking at each team’s design and how they worked together.

Elliott, who is considering carrying on in Higher Education at University after college, said: “I was delighted to reach the national finals of this competition. It was a great experience and even better that we won.”
