Unfortunately, according to the Met Office, the weather will be unsettled and we could see up to 18 hours of prolonged rain on Monday.

Today (Friday, April 20) saw a cold, bright start with showers developing during the morning.

Showers may be heavy at times this afternoon, with the maximum temperature hitting a mild 12 °C.

Weather - not all sunshine and rainbows this Bank Holiday weekend, apparently.

Saturday looks to be the most promising day – similar to Friday, with showers forming during the morning.

However, these should give way to sunny spells and a maximum temperature of 13 °C.

Sunday will see more cloud and showers and although it will be bright on Monday at first, it will turn cloudier with widespread rain and strong winds.

The forecast says rain could start falling in the East Midlands from 1pm on Monday and not die out until 7am Tuesday, when we will see intermittent rain but with sunny spells and lighter winds.
