UPDATE: North Anston: 78-year-old pedestrian in a ‘stable’ condition after being hit by van

A 78-year-old woman is still in hospital after being hit by van in North Anston on Saturday afternoon.

The local woman, who has not been named, is recovering in the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield.

A police spokesperson said: “She is now in a stable condition.”

On the evening of 2nd August, the elderly lady was understood to be fighting for her life after suffering ‘life threatening’ injuries earlier that day.

The incident occurred when a white Ford Transit van emerged from Woodsetts Road and turned right onto The Baulk, heading towards Nursery Road, where it was in collision with a elderly pedestrian, opposite The Cutler pub, at around 1.35pm.

South Yorkshire Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses and would like to speak to anyone who may have information.
